Meet Valkyrie
As a life insurance carrier or investor, you help Americans and their families secure their future through life policies and settlements. As expert underwriters, we leverage our experience to inform individual consumers, life insurance, and life settlement clients about medically-based health risks that impact individuals’ day-to-day health journeys.
For us, it’s personal. Back in 2008, our founder found herself figuring out how to help a family member who couldn’t afford much needed long-term care. Getting funds from a life settlement would have been a godsend, but there was no life insurance policy to use. Coming face-to-face with a situation we try to help prevent only reaffirmed our passion and belief in what we do.
Over the past thirty years, we have evaluated, developed underwriting risk assessments for, and audited nearly one million insurance risks. As a woman-owned/minority-owned brand, we are proud of what we’ve achieved over the last 3 decades. Our team of underwriting professionals has an average of twenty years of experience in assessing medical impairments and associated risks in the life settlement and life insurance industries – from mortality, morbidity, and longevity underwriting expertise – to digital-electronic health data insight.
Meet our founder and chief underwriter, Traci Davis
Certified FALU, FLMI, ACS
An expert underwriter with 30 years of experience under her belt, Traci is recognized as an industry leader in life insurance and settlement underwriting. She is the past president of the Association of Home Office Underwriting – AHOU – the largest underwriting association globally and runs a number of expert underwriter and women’s leadership discussion groups.
Aside from serving as a chief underwriter at Valkyrie, Traci develops underwriter training materials and manages Academy of Life Underwriting work-study groups.
